Aliza Yair from the Otago University Early Childhood Centre will talk about her visit to Bank Steet in New York City last year.

The Bank Street method employs a child-centered education program focusing on diversity of curriculum.

Marion Deaker Workshop

“Teaching and learning conversations about guardianship of Papatuanuku for the next generation”

 

OMEP Otago is bringing Marion Dekker Senior teacher from Tauranga Kindergarten to discuss the six year journey on the implementation of Education for Sustainability (EFS)

 

Marion utilizes a book written by Carolyn O’Connor, which highlights aspects of the Tauranga Kindergarten Association journey towards implementing Education for Sustainability - EfS.  It includes policy development and how the region wide approach has affected practice and influenced children and the community.

 

Marion will provide a workshop on (EFS) at the College of Education on:

Thursday 13th September 2012 @ 7pm

 

 

We ask for a gold coin donation from non OMEP members.
